For consideration is a beautiful round platter in the Old Britain Castles pattern made in Staffordshire England by Johnson Brothers

a few words may opportunely be introduced on a matter which is somewhat puzzling to collectors

The transfer has hand painted colors under glaze and then enameled (clobbered) places around the border

not significant and adds to the patina of the plate

It is made from one piece of wood. It stands Appx 13 tall and shown next to a 10 dinner plate (also available) there is some minor chipping on the underside of the tail though I am not certain it wasnt made this way.
